Hi there everyone!! Please allow me to introduce my latest pattern, which is a computer generated pattern., and as of this date of release 9/24//019, was not stitched yet. This will be my winter stitch and hopefully as you’re reading this- you’ve picked it to stitch too. I created this years ago- as a painting- and one of my online friends and customers just loved the old red barns and days of yesteryear. And so did I. I tweaked the pattern for so long- that my friend never got to see it finished- so in a sense this pattern is in memory- of my friend Phyllis. You’ll also see many other pretty’s- in this winter scene- and they all have a special place in my heart.. Old red barns- horse drawn sleds to go and get the tree, snowmen- and so forth.. Each brings back so many memories. I hope it puts a smile on your face as well.
This pattern was charted for 1 thread over 2, on 40 count. You decide- based on the count of fabric that you actually choose- if you don’t choose the 40 count, how many threads you will be stitching with and over. We all have a preference for sure!! 😊
Basic cross stitch x’s are used throughout this entire piece, as well as some back stitching, as noted on the chart. This was completely charted in DMC- and all colors picked to stich in DMC, however, I’ve picked and suggested some of my favorite variegated threads for you . Hopefully both the DMC and the threads I suggested will be pleasing to your thread palette, and will lend to a “painterly look” by giving shadows and highlights throughout the piece, but by all means- this is all yours and you, so have some fun with colors!!!
Please note!!! I don’t wish for anyone to “adapt” this cross stitch pattern into any other pattern on their own, as it is my design and I will be releasing future patterns using this, including a punch needle design and possible a hooked rug pattern. However- if you wish to stitch this using Lori Brechlin’s ( Notforgotten Farm ) way of doing Un-Counted cross stitch- you definitely may. If you’ve any questions regarding this- please do let me know…. Or you can visit her group https://www.facebook.com/groups/378705032792887/ and find out more. It’s not a Freebie group- but a group to learn and share a new way of stitching freely.
Last thing, before you get stitching is do let me know if you need anything!!!!
Thanks So Much & Happy Stitching!!!
Blessings
Niki
