“Gramma’s Gingers- Recipe Card”
Cross Stitch Pattern Packet
Let me introduce- my newest pattern- “Gramma’s Gingers- Recipe Card”. I just love the look of prim and vintagy images- and especially those old feedsack stripes- which by the way can go vertical or horizontal.. Sometimes you even see them on old seed packets, and thus- I started adding some of this feel and vibe into some of my graphic works… I also love recipe cards and who doesn’t like gingerbreads!!! So- here we are- a recipe card with a prim look and feel and a very cute ginger to give us his recipe… I sure do hope you love this one!!!
Now- this pattern is charted for 2 strands- 2 over 2, on 36 count. You can choose whichever you like as I know we all have a preference. The colors and symbols are clear and easy to follow and you can just pick your favorites- linen and threads and just have some fun.
Basic cross stitch x’s are used throughout this entire piece, as well as some back stitching, as noted on the chart. For the lettering you may wish to stick with one strand of floss to do the backstitching- or even two- so they pop a bit. It’s up to you- as always… This was completely charted in DMC- and all colors picked to stitch in DMC. However- I’ve picked my favorite suggested threads- that are complimenting colors that will lend to a “painterly look” by giving shadows and highlights throughout the piece, but by all means- this is all yours and you, so have some fun with colors!!!
And there are the basics!!! The rest is up to you- and by all means- Enjoy each and every stitch!!
Now for the stuff I always need to add into my pattern packets-- Please note!!! I don’t wish for anyone to “adapt” this cross stitch pattern into any other pattern on their own, as it is my design and I will be releasing future patterns using this, including a punch needle design and possible a hooked rug pattern. However- if you wish to stitch this using Lori Brechlin’s ( Notforgotten Farm ) way of doing Un-Counted cross stitch- you definitely may. If you’ve any questions regarding this- please do let me know…. Or you can visit her group https://www.facebook.com/groups/378705032792887/ and find out more. It’s not a Freebie group- but a group to learn and share a new way of stitching freely.
Last thing, before you get stitching is do let me know if you need anything!!!!
Thanks So Much & Happy Stitching!!!
Blessings
Niki
