New for the winter of 2019, "Olde World Santa In White"...  Hope all enjoy!!!!  :)  INSTANT DOWNLOAD

This pattern was stitched with 1 thread over 2, even though I charted it for 2 strands over 2, on 36 count.   You can choose whichever you like, and I’ve given approx. finished sizes based on 4 counts of fabric.  Please read all directions carefully- especially if you plan on stitching Santa- on my printed and painted linen- “Lantern Lit Forest”, available on linen, Aida, and Lugana in many counts. If you plan on stitching this Olde World Santa Chart- AS IS- on any choice of linen- then by all means- the colors and symbols are clear and easy to follow and you can just pick your favorites- linen and threads and just have some fun.

NOW- if you plan on stitching this chart- on my “Lantern Lit Forest” linen/fabric- then you’ll have to get that separately in my store online.   NOTE:   All fabric and linen orders can take 2-6 weeks from order to ship date- as we often have to order more supplies in, depending on volume of orders we get.  After you get the linen/fabric of choice ( either linen, aida or lugana )- then this is where the fun begins…  Have a peek in my Linen & Fabrics section of the website- and you'll find it there with lots of choices!!

Our linens are hand cut to size, and then I print out the graphics on the linen- using special products and a heat press.   On the “Lantern Lit Forest” fabric- you are getting a fat quarter of fabric- and on it will be the pine tree and lantern, and sepia trees behind it.   Then the fabrics are treated with a special mix of my coffee walnut and scented stains, and then I hand paint snow all along the bottom of the graphics, and in and out on some of the trees..  This is all done- one piece at a time for you when you order.

So what is next???  You decide- based on the count of fabric- where you want to start stitching your Santa and Sled.   The actual print of the graphics measures 14” wide by 10 ½” tall.  The pine tree is 10” tall, and the Lantern Light is 9 ½” tall.  So- take the stitch count- 136 x 97 and figure out based on your count of fabric- just how big your Santa and sled are going to be.    I gave you approximate heights and widths based on 28, 32, 36 and 40 counts, which are the same as 14, 16, 18 and 20 count Aida.   This will tell you about how big your Santa is going to be.   Take that into consideration- as you figure out just where you want to begin stitching.   I am personally stitching mine, just down a bit into the painted snow at the bottom- just close enough to the pine tree- so that my model shows what you see on the cover- so Santa is just a little lower than the light- and just a bit away from the pine tree- extending the sled out to the right, into the sepia trees.  One thing for sure- is you need a starting point- somewhere down at the bottom of the printed graphics and painted snow, unlike starting somewhere in the middle..   You decide- but you will have to do a little calculating on just where you want him to end up- and how big you want him to be- by all the information I have provided. Just remember one simple thing- the lower the count- the bigger the Santa!!  If you need some help- don’t be afraid to reach out to me…
This way of stitching charts on top of printed and painted images on fabrics/lines, is quite new to some and now getting familiar with others- and it’s such a great way to add interest and depth to a cross stitch piece.  Basic cross stitch x’s are used throughout this entire piece, as well as some back stitching, as noted on the chart.  This was completely charted in DMC- and all colors picked to stich in DMC.   I’ve picked complimenting colors that will lend to a “painterly look” by giving shadows and highlights throughout the piece, but by all means- this is all yours and you, so have some fun with colors!!!

Please note!!!  I don’t wish for anyone to “adapt” this cross stitch pattern into any other pattern on their own, as it is my design and I will be releasing future patterns using this, including a punch needle design and possible a hooked rug pattern.  However- if you wish to stitch this using Lori Brechlin’s ( Notforgotten Farm ) way of doing Un-Counted cross stitch- you definitely may.  If you’ve any questions regarding this- please do let me know…. Or you can visit her group https://www.facebook.com/groups/378705032792887/ and find out more.   It’s not a Freebie group- but a group to learn and share a new way of stitching freely.

Last thing, before you get stitching is do let me know if you need anything!!!!
Thanks So Much & Happy Stitching!!!
Blessings
Niki
